Carrie Underwood Extends Carnival Ride Tour

Fans can't get enough of Carrie Underwood and it's no wonder. The former American Idol's headlining Carnival Ride Tour is one of the hottest country tours on the road this year. And now the excitement and overwhelming demand from fans for tickets, have resulted in new additional dates through December!

The added shows begin September 23 and will feature special guest star Little Big Town.

Nearly 600,000 fans have been a part of the Carnival Ride Tour audience to date. Underwood will hit 51 cities in the U.S. and Canada this fall, in addition to her wrapping the current leg with opening act Jason Michael Carroll ending June 24. She will also play a select number of fairs and festivals this summer.

Carrie has enjoyed an ubelievable year to date. She was inducted as the newest member of the Grand Ole Opry and named Top Female Vocalist at the 2008 Academy of Country Music Awards for the second consecutive time.

Her current album Carnival Ride, which contains the #1 co-written smash hits "So Small," "All-American Girl" and "Last Name," was certified double-platinum within 2 months of its release.

Her debut album, Some Hearts, was certified 7x-Platinum, becoming the best-selling solo female country debut in RIAA history and surpasses all other releases as the all-time U.S. top-selling album by any American Idol contestant.
